New fitness centre gets on top of pies
With help and support from the SASDA development agency, a former 'UK Strongest Man' title holder has started a new health and fitness centre in Spennymoor Town Centre.
Situated above Hockings Butchers Shop, 'Bodies' is owned by Steve Brooks, who is already quite a celebrity in the area. In 2001 Steven achieved the title of 'UK Strongest man' and has also appeared on the television show 'Ready Steady Cook' with Ainsley Harriett.
Steve's years of expertise in health, fitness and healthy eating allows him to tailor individual training plans for each customer. This might be for weight loss, toning, overall fitness or even becoming a Mr, or Ms Universe.
The centre is filled with the latest hi-tech cardio vascular equipment, including; running machines, rowers, cross trainers and resistance machines, as well as a fabulous free weights area. Refreshments are available from the well stocked reception area and include all the proprietary fitness drinks and snacks that you can think of, but strictly no sugar!
Membership is growing rapidly because of Steve's reputation in the area and the quality of the equipment on offer. The emphasis is on a balanced customer base and over half of the members are female. Cost of joining for a year is particularly reasonable at around thirty pounds.
SASDA has provided business support throughout the process of setting up and have been instrumental in getting a grant for high street refurbishment that had been offered by Spennymoor Town Council.
Steve commented "It's great to have specialist business advisers from SASDA backing you up when you have so much to contend with. They identified areas of financial assistance that I had even not been aware of. They continue to provide vital input and ideas which allow me concentrate on giving a great service to my customers which is what I'm here for".
