Business & Communities Project Launches with a Bang
Businesses of Trimdon and Fishburn took advantage of the first ever Business and Communities Together project at Trimdon Station Community Centre.
Over 20 businesses braved the cold evening and attended the event, designed to create a single and unified voice for small local businesses in the Trimdon and Fishburn area. The event was managed by SASDA and Darren Race from South Durham Business Club who provided the format for the evening.
The BACTs project aims to help businesses tackle local issues and also encourage trade between member companies.
Businesses who attended split into groups to decide the issues and challenges they faced doing business in the area and how those issues were best addressed.
The groups then fed the information back and collectively decided on how best to take the group forward. Those in attendance were keen to form part of a steering group to help guide the future format of BACT and agreed they would like to help make the format succeed.
The evening was rounded off by a prize draw, where Mr. John Rayner from Q-Engineer won a luxury hamper. The SASDA team are now all keen to engage with John to help him eat all those homemade mince pies!
The steering group have agreed to meet again soon to push the project forward, so log on to find out how the BACT progresses.
