Businesses in Trimdon Set to Get Something to Shout About
A pilot scheme specially designed to develop and strengthen local business is set to be launched in County Durham.
SASDA, the enterprise agency for the former Sedgefield borough, working with The South Durham Business Network and the East Durham Rural Area Action Partnership has developed the Business And Communities Together network (BACT) which aims to provide a forum for local firms.
It wants to bring together local businesses from all walks of life, from green grocers and gardeners to painters and plumbers, to meet and discuss local issues, provide a united voice to help solve problems and develop and implement new policies, and to share ideas.
Karl Bone, Chief Executive of SASDA commented:
“The concept of the Business and Communities Together is an exciting new project which will hand local communities a unique opportunity to come together for the good of each other’s business. Getting access to the wider business community with South Durham Business Network is also a brilliant added bonus and should help local businesses connect to a much wider group. The BACT is all about giving small, local businesses a voice in their community, a forum where they can come together and tackle local issues collectively.”
Businesses which join and engage with the BACT will also get access to the South Durham Business Club and in turn form part of the network of north east business clubs which exist in the area.
Firms are being invited to join the first BACT network in Trimdon which will be held next month and which will be repeated across the South Durham area over the coming months. To register an interest in the BACT initiative contact SASDA on 01325 310730 or log onto www.sasda.info
