Project Examples
Lorraine Lax had an initial meeting and was looking to open a bridal/prom wear shop in Spennymoor after spending many hours making and altering dresses on behalf of family and friends. After an initial meeting with a Pre Start Coach Lorraine then met with a Legi Coach and within 2 months opened her business in premises in Spennymoor High Street ‘Beautiful Brides’.
Lucinder Barnes who has a 7 month old son was looking to do something to work around her family life so she did not have to spend too much time away from her baby. Lucinder had previously worked doing Payroll for a local company. She wanted to train more in depth as a Bookkeeper so with the help of SASDA found a home learning bookkeeping course. Lucinder is to start her business in April 2010 and already has potential work lined up.
Mark Delaney works part time as a landscape gardener but with a hard winter has not had much work. Mark had the idea to train as a Plasterer so he could work for himself and also have a more steady income instead of seasonal work. With the help of SASDA Mark attended a course with NE Tiling Training and a meeting was arranged to see a Legi Coach. Mark is working towards getting his own business up and running as soon as possible.
